Da WUS Experience

I guess it was the 16th of Oct,2009. I and one of my friends, planned to watch the movie, Wake up Sid. He being a Mumbaikaar was very excited about it. The show generally starts at 6. But we both slept in the afternoon n we woke up at 5:40. I was a bit disappointed but my friend, a die-hard optimist, who never gives up easily felt that we 'll somehow reach on time if we hurry. We quickly got ready n sped off on his cycle till we reached the campus' main gate. But then there was a long queue at the ATM. We didn't have any money, except for some exact change to reach the theatre by an auto. We thought we'd buy the tickets using my Debit card n skip snacks during the intermission. But as luck 'd have it they weren't accepting any cards that day. One good thing is that there was a show at 6:45. The nearest ATM was several kilometres away. If we walked briskly, and if the queue at the ATM 'd not be long, only then we'd reach in time. And again when I seemed to be shaky about the idea, my friend took the decision, that we 'd TAKE THE RISK !! So we did go walking all the way. He, being an athlete, was enjoying the whole thing. It was too dark. I followed him like the HUTCH network's pug, puffing and panting already. It's Dhanbad. Here one should be surprised if the street lamps glow. And just then, as if my luck's grand father committed suicide, I stepped into a small ditch full of cowdung. Yes, cowdung in a DITCH, it wasn't even a CAKE :(( ... I cleaned my footwear with some leaves and twigs which were lying on the road-side. We then jogged along, to cover up the time wasted. Finally, we reached the ATM and withdrew the money. Now we had to hunt for change cos no autowallah 'd let us in without proper change. The shopkeepers around were equally khadoos. We did some extra spending and got some change n were back at the theatre in time. I cleaned myself again, this time properly, at the washroom and then went into the theatre. The opening credits were then playing on the screen. I heaved a sigh of relief and sank into my seat n from then on it was pure bliss !!... I watched one of the best movies ever made in bollywood.

The episode taught me two lessons:

1) Follow your heart. Live your dreams. ( from WUS )
2) Never give up!! Thanks to my die-hard optimistic friend, the Mumbaikaar, Kedar. Love u :*
